Have you visited Museum of Caramulo? Or the Bread Museum, in Seia? Have you been to the Palace of Ice, in Viseu? Do you know the Rock Art Observatory, in Avô? The National Forest of Buçaco? Coimbra? Piodão? And the beautiful landscapes of this region? Did you know that all these places are less than one hour driving from our resort, MizarVillage?

Then, we propose you a weekend-escapade. Mizar Village, in Tábua, will be the starting point to discover all these places of the Center Region of Portugal, and we already have a few sugestions of discovery tours. But first of all, let's know the region:

Tábua

Tábua is a municipality in the heart of Portugal, in the district of Coimbra, just 30 minutes away form Portugal's highest inland mountains, Serra da Estrela. It’s a land of small hills, valleys and rivers, with a rich historical background and monuments, where typical houses are built on granite stone. It's part of the Dão "Protected Designation of Origin" (PDO) region, one of the most significant PDOs in Portugal, therefore, a land of agriculture, cattle breeding, winemaking and cheese production, as well as traditional food.

All in all, Tábua is an excellent region for nature sports, summer camps and other similar activities, or just for relaxing countryside vacations.

Caramulo and The Museum

After a reinvigorating canoe trip during the moorning, and a rewarding lunch, visit Museu Of Caramulo, where you can “look in the eyes” of a Picasso (that's right!), and get real close to a Bugatti 35B. And don't forget seeing over 5000 toys that made your parents very happy in their childhood. By nightfall, before going to rest, you can take a relaxing walk tyhrough our grove, or if you prefer, take a bath at our swimming pool, should the weather allow it.

Village Tour

A good breakfast is very important. Afterwards, go to Coja and Benfeita. After visiting this village (you'll love it!), go to Fraga da Pena and admire this waterfall. Resume you course and head to Piodão. Spectacular landscape, but a road full of turns, demanding you attention. Stop once in a while to admire the hills. After Piodão, keep on your path to Chãs d’Égua (Rock Art Observatory), in a very pleasant road to drive through (always with safety). After passing Vide, drive to Alvoco da Serra, and pass the 3 Road Bridge. Dinner can be at the hospitable (and very good!) Varandas Verdes restaurant. You're just 15 minutes from Pedra da Sé/Mizar Village and from a rewarding rest.

City Tour

If you find it difficult to stay away fomr urban life for a while, you can wake with the chanting of birds that you never heard before, and watch squirrels passing by, while the first sun rays shine through the tree leafes, dancing at the morning breeze. Admire this brief and beautiful nature show, and then take your afternoon and night to visit two of the most interesting cities in inner Portugal: Coimbra or Viseu.

Diversão

Do you like bowling? Speed? Then we recomend you go to Vila Nova de Poiares town, where you can spend the afternoon aiming at the bowling pins or racing in the go-kart track. Have fun!

Outdoor Sports Day

After having your breakfast in fanily or with friends, go to the “rising sun hill” (in MizarVillage), and be tempted by our artificial climbing wall. Can you climb only half way? Don't be hasty, maybe you van reach the top when you climb the next time… but you can also try our zipline (going down is always easy) without dizziness… in the company of those you like the most; it's a special pleasure… and the afternoon, well, the afternoon is for you to decide what to do, after a moorning that can lead you to new challenges, or to a quiet nap (depending on your enthusiasm and endurance), perhaps perfect to prepare a night at the "MizarVillage" disco.

Serra da Estrela and Seia

Serra da Estrela? The highest mountains in mainland Portugal are just 30 minutes away, with Seia town in the foot of the mountain, where you can get to know the secrets of baking at the Bread Museum or visit the Toy Museum, before you take the road to the top of the mountain. This is a good option for the whole year, but particularly in Winter because of the snow!

Fun Day

Have you made a sack race with your children? Have you gone on a orienteering trail or follow a "roadbook" with families or friends? Whan was the last time you played with marbles? And other tradicional games? What about building a raft? Which floats longer? Yours or you children's? It's time to play and have fun with them!

Buçaco and Luso

In one of our most beautiful national forests, we find this dream palace. A day to remember.
